Alan deForest was born in San Diego.  He was raised Catholic and feels that the dark religious influence of his upbringing has allowed him to create visually stunning yet disturbing pieces of useable art.  His now Shamanic persuasion has created boxes with a mystical flair--utilizing the power of the dead to show beauty in life.  Alan's attachment to Gothic culture shines through his art like light through a darkened window.
